C-029: Ancestor Kaaru

Ancestor Kaaru was once a general, ruthless and fierce. He lead many great battles, and won against great odds... but in the process, caused a lot of harm. Because of the harm he caused, he was chosen as one of the Six to be bound to the Oasis for all eternity to atone for the sins of his species.

Personality

Kaaru is friendly towards the li'uhn that come to the Oasis, and one of the few that will interact with them directly instead of stand there looking mysterious and huge. He is also one of the very few who will greet the li'uhn without his ceremonial robes on. He only wears them when he gets yelled at by Vahanu for it, but generally carries himself with less care than the rest.

While he seems crass and angry,  deep down he's bored and depressed. He sees no point in the mystery or tradition, and this often puts him at odds with the others.

He's got a tendency to get wasted drunk, much to the annoyance of the others. The Oasis provides everything the il'hune needs, but he brews the alcohol himself. He swears even more when drunk, and is far more likely start fights with Rama.

He is very gentle and careful with the li'uhn that come to visit, and has never hurt one. Rumor has it he even raised an orphaned li'uhn until she was adopted out to a new home when she was old enough to start wandering...

Relationship to the Others

Tahti: Sees him as a son. Kaaru loves Tahti, and is quite protective of him. He took him under his wing and does his best to make his imprisonment alongside the others in the Oasis less boring.

Rama: He has a heated rivalry with Rama. He and Rama hate eachother. There seems to be something between them, but neither talk about it. They generally stay out of eachother's way, but sometimes get into all out brawls Vahanu has to break up

Vahanu: She's just done with Kaaru's bullshit, and can be rather short with him. She doesn't hate him, but she wishes he'd stop being such a rebel

Haolani: Generally ignores Kaaru. She lets Vahanu deal with his bullshit

Dayalu: Doesn't mind Kaaru. She'll even drink with him sometimes. She's the only other one who interacts with Tahti. She agrees with Kaaru that what happened is not the young il'hune's fault.
